The First Aid at Work course includes practical work and theoretical classroom work, as well as a practical assessment on CPR and first aid. The course is delivered over three consecutive days. The award is valid for three years as of the date of assessment.
The content of the course will cover how to deal with the following:
Anaphylaxis
Assess an incident
Communication and casualty care
Conduct a secondary survey
Asthma
Bleeding (minor and severe)
Bone, muscle and joint injuries
Burns and scalds
Chest injuries
Chest pains (including heart attack)
Choking (adult)
Eye injuries
Fainting Unresponsive casualty
Health and safety (first aid) regulations
Head injuries
Low blood sugar
Poisoning
Resuscitation (adult CPR)
Seizures (adult)
Severe allergic reaction
Shock
Spinal injuries
Stroke
Suspected major Illness
The role of the first aider
Level 2 Basic Life Support and Anaphylaxis Management Qualification + 2 hours
